Lamont Jordan

Why is new england even mentioned in that.  We have 3 solid backs currently on the roster with 2 FB that do it all as well.  Evans as a blcoker (and a wideout in game) and Eckel as a rusher and special teams player.
Maroney and Morris get the job done with the Pats being a PASS first team recently, and kevin faulk who does it all.

NEW ENGLAND WAS 4th! last year in yards per game with 114.... DONT FORGET IT

I dont think bringin Lamont in for a try would hurt.

Yes, we have capable backs... but they do have question marks.

If Sammy Morris isnt completely ready, I dont think itd be a bad idea to bring in a power back like Lamont, and see if he can surprise some ppl.

Really?

Morris is "supposed" to be ready and Moroney is good to go...if they need a power back thats why they keep the NAVY superstar in Eckel.
Sorry but i cant agree with that at all

While I don't think brining in a guy like Lamont Jordan would be a bad idea, I don't think its necessary either.

I don't think Morris' chest injury will be tough to come back from... we'll just have to see what kind of shape he's in.

As for a power back... well, Maroney is pretty powerful himself, aint he? I think he's really filled in nicely and should have a breakout season in 2008.

There is also BenJarvus Green-Ellis who is a guy who I think could surprise some people with his strength and acceleration during training camp.

so where is there room for a pure power back, cause thats all Lamont really is...Not saying he doesnt have agility or break away speed but that is gonna depend on the defender.

we have 3 great backs, and now a young Green-Ellis to add into the mix...I havent been able to watch much tape on him but look forward to it in preseaon.

Well theres no room.  Problem so the Patriots will cut one running back in training camp.  No question.

But word is so far that Lamont Jordan has looked really good and can be an everydown hb, a fb, or a 3rd down back.  Versatility is what Belichick likes so I think Jordan will have a roster spot on this team come september.

Interesting how this will all play out.

I think they will keep all 4 RBS and 1 FB and drop a TE/WR/CB

only real way to make this work.

Plus you still have to have room for Seau, about to get to that thread and see what was said

Big chance for Jordan week one.

But im of the opinion he'll eat his way off the team, similar to Antwain Smith and Corey Dillon.
